Gallions Copse
Community Garden

It was a sadly neglected and inaccessible green space scattered with litter and fly-tipping. But Tidy West Thamesmead has begun clearing the space of debris and overgrowth to promote the return of local plants and animals.

Cory Community Fund awarded WTCA a grant to progress this project. We have also applied to the Making Space for Nature fund to help us create a space for nature that benefits the whole community.

Our vision is to create a walking path, install a series of benches, bins, and box gardens, develop a communal space for gardening and a storage area for equipment.

We aim to secure it with improved fencing and accessible gates for the whole community.

Design and installations will be selected in collaboration with community members here through our website, social media, and online forums to raise awareness of the project.
